In continuation of the “Long Distances on Saturday” Exhibition that the Performance Class Al Solh realized weeks earlier in the Red Light District of Amsterdam, “I Bring My Body back with Me” Exhibition was organized in our homebase in Kassel. With another version of the “Violent Light District” interactive light installation I decided to focus on an more playful approach to explore different materials and to concentrate less on the body for this round. Since this project is not crystalized yet in its form and focus it was interesting to test it out in several different spaces and versions.

L I C H T Installation von Cat Woywod

Spiegelfolie, graue Folie, Polymethylmethacrylat, silberne Pailletten.

Im freundlichen Dank an Frau Günther,

Herr K. Orlovius,

dem Team des Hospiz Kassel,

dem Palliativ Netzwerk Kassel,

M. Salama, B.Ghazouli

und der Kunsthochschule Kassel.

As part of the “AU:TENT” Exhibition by the Performance Class of Mathilde ter Heinje (12-15 July 2018) at the annual KHK Artschool Showcase in Kassel, Yasmeen Shirazi and I collaborated for an audio-visual performance that explored individual and collective synesthetic connections between color and sound perception. As both sound and colors were improvised and played with by the artists and the audience, connections started emerging and the explorations held lovely insights and questions.
